Session 1: The Prostate with Adore Your Pelvic Floor and Mr Rajiv Pillai, Consultant Urological Surgeon

This information video is the first of the series Adore Your Pelvic Floor are providing with advice specific to men receiving hormone therapy for prostate cancer.

Mr Rajiv Pillai is a Consultant Urological and Robotic Surgeon who works at Colchester and Southend Hospital for the NHS and privately and the Oaks Hospital in Colchester. He is currently the cancer lead for urology and a prostate cancer tutor for the university of Edinburgh . He has a particular interest in various aspects of prostate diseases including benign prostate enlargement and prostate cancer.

3. What is prostate enlargement?
4. Which symptoms indicate to approach the GP?
5. What are the symptoms of prostate cancer?
6. When is a partial removal of prostate required and what is the after care?
7. When is a radical prostatectomy required and what is the aftercare including physio support?
8. When/Why is hormone therapy used, and what is the aim?
9. What are the side effects of this treatment?
10. Where can patients get support?
